Alumni Association of Jamia Millia Islamia, on behalf of the entire alumni expresses gratitude to Honourable Prime Minister Modi for extending wishes on Foundation Day.

  • Prime Minister Modi admires Jamia Millia Islamia's "momentous contribution" to strengthening the nation's unity during the freedom struggle. 

  • This gathering was held on October 30 2019, where Hon'able President of India Ramnath Kovind was the Chief Guest and Hon'able Union Human Resources Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' was the Guest of Honour.

  • More than 10 thousand students who passed out in 2017 and 2018 were given degrees and diplomas on the event.

In a note on the event of the university's annual convocation that was held recently, the Prime Minister also said that the sound academic and cultural engagement of the students and the alumni of the institution will help the nation achieve glorious heights of excellence, said a statement from the Delhi-based central university.

"Youth and citizens of our country must exceed in modernisation and research and lift technology for the profit of the common man,'' he said further adding "the 21st century will belong to knowledge-rich societies and nations"

Defining the Convocation ceremony as "memorable occasion" for students he said it signifies the commencement of their evolution of development into professional experts in their individual fields.

The Prime Minister congratulated the complete academic organisation of JMI i.e, teachers, students, alumni and all the people who have been allied with the university.

Jamia Millia Islamia Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his encouraging words and said that this would strengthen the JMI organisation in taking the institution to new heights.
